Our Story
Five college students with a mission to support the environment through sustainable skincare.
How It All Started
Tallo began at Michigan State University when five friends united over a shared concern about harmful ingredients in everyday skincare and mainstream beauty brands' environmental impact. Inspired by traditional skincare practices, we discovered the powerful benefits of beef tallow—a natural, nutrient-rich alternative to synthetic products. What began as a small batch of homemade moisturizer for ourselves and friends quickly grew as more people saw the difference, sparking our mission to create clean, effective skincare while supporting sustainable farming and a healthier planet.
Our Mission
We're on a mission to change how people think about skincare and farming.
Better Skincare
We're committed to creating skincare products that are truly good for your skin, using ingredients that nourish rather than harm.
Sustainable Farming
We support regenerative agriculture practices that improve soil health, animal welfare, and ecosystem diversity.
Education & Awarness
We're dedicated to raising awareness about skincare choices' impact on personal health and the environment.
Commitment To Ethical Practices
We understand that using animal products raises ethical questions. We're committed to sourcing our tallow exclusively from farms that practice humane, sustainable animal husbandry.
Our farms raise cattle on open pastures, allowing them to graze naturally on diverse grasses. These animals are treated with respect throughout their lives, and no part of the animal goes to waste.
By supporting these farms, we're helping to promote a more sustainable and humane alternative to factory farming. This approach is better for the animals, better for the environment, and ultimately better for everyone.
